A week in Tobago

My parents retired two years ago to their sailboat Aeeshah. They live full time on the boat now only returning back to Bermuda once a year. My kids have enjoyed the last two summers with them onboard exploring new places in the Caribbean. Last year it was St.Vincent and the Grenadines, this year they were based in Trinidad and Tobago while they waited out the hurricane season.

Katie and I had a week in California with her parents before joining up with them in Tobago for a week. Our home while visiting was the beautiful tree house like lodge’s of Castara Retreats in the small fishing village of Castara. We had a blast and spending the week exploring Tobago from one end to the other on land and in the water. A truly beautiful island that really has very few similarities to Bermuda which made it all the more interesting. Life there is far more basic and less complicated, a perfect place to relax and enjoy the summer!

A panoramic shot from the boat looking back on the bay. Our lodge was tucked up in the trees to the right.

Home for the week!
